MAG boxes use portal URL configuration — we register your box's MAC address on our server, you enter the portal URL on your box, and channels appear instantly. No app installation, no usernames, no passwords.

Find Your MAG Box's MAC Address

The MAC address is a unique identifier for your MAG box. We need it to configure your account on our server.

  1. Power on your MAG box and connect it to your TV via HDMI
  2. From the main menu, navigate to Settings (gear icon)
  3. Select System Settings
  4. Go to About or Status
  5. You'll see the MAC Address displayed (looks like 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX)
  6. Write it down or take a photo
💡 Tip: You can also find the MAC address printed on the sticker on the bottom of your MAG box. Saves you navigating menus.

Send Us Your MAC Address via WhatsApp

Send your MAC address and we'll register it on our server. You'll get back a portal URL.

  1. Open WhatsApp and message +44 7309 572838
  2. Send: "Hi, MAG box setup. MAC: [your MAC address]. Model: MAG [your model number]"
  3. Wait for confirmation — usually within 5-10 minutes
  4. We'll reply with your Portal URL (looks like http://yourserver.com/c/)

Enter the Portal URL on Your MAG Box

Now we add the portal URL to your MAG box. Channels will load automatically.

  1. Return to the main menu (press HOME button)
  2. Go to Settings → System Settings → Servers
  3. Select Portals
  4. In Portal 1 URL, enter the URL we sent (e.g., http://yourserver.com/c/)
  5. Optionally name it: Portal 1 name → "Emerald Stream"
  6. Press OK to save
  7. Return to home and press the EXIT button twice to reboot
⚠️ Important: Type the URL exactly as sent — including the trailing slash "/". One small typo will fail to connect. Best to send WhatsApp from your phone and copy-paste if your MAG has a USB keyboard.

After saving the portal URL, your MAG box will reboot and load Emerald Stream.

  1. The MAG box will reboot automatically (takes 30-60 seconds)
  2. Once back on, you'll see Emerald Stream's interface load
  3. Browse Live TV for 19,000+ channels
  4. Check Movies & Series for VOD content
  5. Use the EPG to see what's on now and later
  6. Add favorites for quick channel switching

Common MAG Box Issues & Fixes

"Loading Portal" stuck on screen

Most common cause: incorrect portal URL. Re-check spelling — every character including the trailing slash matters. Power-cycle the MAG box (unplug for 30 seconds). Try entering the URL again. If still stuck, WhatsApp us your MAC and we'll verify your registration on our server.

"No Internet Connection" error

Go to Settings → System Settings → Network. Confirm Wi-Fi is connected or Ethernet cable is plugged in. Run a network test from the menu. MAG boxes prefer Ethernet over Wi-Fi — use a wired connection if streams keep dropping.

Can't find MAC address

Check the sticker on the bottom of your MAG box — it's printed there. In menu: Settings → System Settings → About / Status. WhatsApp us a photo of the bottom sticker if you can't find it — we'll identify it from the image.

Channels load but buffer constantly

MAG boxes need stable internet. Switch to Ethernet cable for best performance — Wi-Fi often causes buffering. Check speed: 10+ Mbps for HD, 25+ Mbps for 4K (4K only on MAG 424/524/540). Reboot your router if needed.

EPG (TV Guide) is empty

EPG takes up to 5 minutes to load on first setup. If still empty: Go to Settings → System Settings → Servers → EPG Source and refresh. If still nothing, WhatsApp us — we can refresh your EPG server-side instantly.

Some channels won't play

Try other channels — if most work, it's likely a server-side channel issue (we'll fix server-side, usually within minutes). Restart the MAG box. WhatsApp us the specific channel name and we'll check on our end immediately.
